The WFSFAA is committed to providing dedicated financial assistance to needy families in Hong Kong, supporting children and youths receiving education and encouraging household members to stay in active employment.

Through various student financial assistance schemes, covering students from pre-primary to post-secondary levels, we work to ensure that no students in Hong Kong will be denied access to education because of lack of means. We also encourage students to achieve excellence in their academic studies through a number of scholarships and merit award schemes.

We are also responsible for implementing the Working Family Allowance (WFA) Scheme. The WFA Scheme provides different levels of allowance according to the principle of rewarding hard work with a view to encouraging self-reliance and easing inter-generational poverty.
