Entry Requirements / 入學要求:
1. COMPLETED HONG KONG SECONDARY FIVE EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT ON OR PRIOR TO 2011 OR 2. COMPLETED HONG KONG SECONDARY SIX EDUCATION (UNIVERSITY ADMISSION LEVEL) OR EQUIVALENT ON OR AFTER 2012. 3. UNDERSTAND CHINESE (CANTONESE) INSTRUCTION OR HAVE STUDIED CANTONESE FOR 80 HOURS. STUDENTS WILL BE INVITED FOR A PLACEMENT BEFORE ADMISSION TO DETERMINE THE FULFILLMENT OF THIS CRITERIA.

(II)Elective modules: choose one to two modules (33 to 40 course hours each) from the following 15 modules.

Instructors' Qualifications / 導師資歷:
APPOINTEES SHOULD HAVE (I) A RELEVANT MA DEGREE IN DISCIPLINES RELATED TO LANGUAGE EDUCATION; (II) NATIVE OR NEAR NATIVE IN THE LANGUAGE TAUGHT; (III) FAMILIAR WITH CURRENT TRENDS AND PRACTICES IN TEACHING CHINESE AS A SECOND LANGUAGE, AND PREFERABLY (IV) KNOWLEDGE OF A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND CROSS-CULTURAL EDUCATION.

Assessment / 課程評核要求:
(A) Assessment Items and Their Weightings:
(1) All courses have the following assessment items and weightings unless otherwise specified: Final Exam 30%, Mid-term Exam 15%, Quiz/ Dictation 10%, Periodic Test 15%, Instructors' Assessment 30%.
(2) CLCC2203B Integrated Chinese Reading I, CLCC3303 Chinese Reading II, CLCC4403A/B Chinese Reading III: Quiz/ Dictation 30%, Periodic Test 40%, Instructors' Assessment 30%.
(3) CLCC1103B Introduction to Chinese Scripts and Culture, CLCC4633A/B/C/D Newspaper Reading A/B/C/D: Final Exam or Test 70%, Instructors' Assessment 30%.
(4) CLCE1103B Chinese Language and Culture for Language Learners: Project 30%, Class Participation 10%, Post-lecture Quizzes 60%.
(5) CLCE2203B Chinese Characters and Reading Chinese: Final Exam or Test 25%, Mid-term Exam or Test 15%, Assignment 10%, Class Participation 20%, Instructors' Assessment 10%, Quizzes and Dictations: 20%

(B) Completion Requirements and CEF Reimbursement Requirements:
(1) Pass in each course (at least 50% or higher overall passing mark).
(2) Attain a minimum 70% attendance for each course in every term.

Delivery Mode / 授課模式:
Total: 80 (incl. 4 assessment hrs) to 120 hours (incl. 6 assessment hrs).
Minimum 80 course hours (incl. 2 assessment hrs).
Part-time mode. If a student has chosen the elective with a duration of 33 hours (incl. 2 assessment hrs), he/ she is required to study the third module (whether at 33-hour or 40-hour), in order to meet the programme requirement of a minimum of 80 hours.
