Overview

The Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) is to complement the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) to provide loans to eligible students to settle tuition fees of locally-accredited, self-financing full-time programmes at the level of associate degree, higher diploma or degree.

Cancellation of NLSPS Loan

  • If loan borrowers have accepted the NLSPS loan but wish to apply for cancellation of the NLSPS loan which has not yet been arranged for disbursement, please submit the duly completed "Application for Cancellation of Loan"(NLSPS 167)(Paper-base Application / Electronic Application) to the Student Finance Office (SFO).

  • In the event that the disbursement of the NLSPS loan has been or is being arranged, cancellation of the NLSPS loan will not be accepted.

  • Loan borrowers will be liable for the NLSPS loan disbursed/to be disbursed and the interest accrued/to be accured thereon and are obliged to repay the SFO the NLSPS loan so disbursed/to be disbured and the interest accrued/to be accured thereon, plus any recovery costs incurred by the Government. Loan borrowers may in turn choose to make early repayment of the NLSPS loan.
