Overview

The Student Travel Subsidy (STS) for Tertiary or Post-secondary Students provides travel subsidy to eligible students attending a full-time day course up to first degree level in an acceptable institution.

Application Procedures

For students applying for Tertiary Student Finance Scheme – Publicly‐funded Programmes (TSFS)
  • Applicants must indicate the wish to apply for the STS when submitting the online application for assistance under the TSFS.

  • If you have not applied for the STS at the time of your application for assistance under the TSFS but wish to re-apply for the STS thereafter, you should submit a completed Form TSFS/STS/18C with the residential address proof to the Student Finance Office (SFO) for consideration.

For students applying for Financial Assistance Scheme for Post‐secondary Students (FASP)
  • Applicants must indicate the wish to apply for the STS when submitting the online application for assistance under the FASP.

  • If you have not applied for the STS at the time of your application for assistance under the FASP but wish to re-apply for the STS thereafter, you should submit a completed Form FASP/STS/1C with the residential address proof to the SFO for consideration.

  • For full-time post-secondary students pursuing accredited, self-financing post-secondary education programmes covered by the FASP who are aged over 30 in 2025/26 academic year (i.e. born on or before 31 August 1994), they are not eligible for assistance under the FASP. These students who intend to apply for the STS should follow the application procedures for the STS under the Financial Assistance Schemes for Primary and Secondary Students.
