Overview

DAE / DYJ tuition fee reimbursement provides students with financial assistance in the form of tuition fee reimbursement. Students who fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria can obtain 30%, 50% or 100% reimbursement of the tuition fees paid after the end of each school year.

Eligibility

  • Both full-time and part-time eligible DAE students & part-time DYJ students will receive reimbursement of 30% of the tuition fees paid for each satisfactorily completed subject, provided that they attained an overall pass in the subject and achieved 80% attendance or above for the subject. #
    1. Students are still eligible for tuition fee reimbursement under the DAE/DYJ programme even if they have benefited from the Financial Assistance Scheme for Designated Evening Adult Education Courses (FAEAEC) before enrolling on the DAE/DYJ programme. Students who have already obtained tuition fee reimbursement under the DAE/DYJ programme will not be eligible for tuition fee reimbursement under the FAEAEC unless they have refunded the HKSAR Government all the reimbursement obtained under the DAE/DYJ programme. Besides, if students enroll on both the DAE/DYJ programme and the evening secondary courses provided by approved course providers under the FAEAEC in the same school year, they are required to choose to receive tuition fee reimbursement under either the DAE/DYJ programme or the FAEAEC.
  • A student can only receive tuition fee reimbursement for a maximum of 8 subjects which must be essential for the completion of the DAE/DYJ programme.
  • If a student studies both the DAE programme and DYJ programme, he / she can only receive tuition fee reimbursement for a maximum of 8 courses under the DAE/DYJ programme in total.
  • If a student has been reimbursed the tuition fee of a DYJ course, he/she cannot apply for tuition fee reimbursement for the same course under the DAE programme. For example, if a student has been reimbursed the tuition fee of the Chinese subject of the DYJ programme, he/she cannot apply for tuition fee reimbursement for the Chinese subject under the DAE programme.
  • The reimbursement is subject-based. Students who cannot complete individual subjects satisfactorily are still eligible for tuition fee reimbursement for the other subjects which they have satisfactorily completed.
  • Once the parent or legal guardian of the students submitted the “Household Application for Student Financial Assistance Schemes” and passed the means test, the Student Finance Office (SFO) will issue an Eligibility Certificate (EC) indicating that the student is eligible for "FULL" or "HALF" level of assistance. Having submitted the completed EC to the student’s institution for verification of his/her enrolment information, the student will be reimbursed with “FULL” or “HALF” of the tuition fees paid.
