I am most grateful for the generous support from the Sir Edward Youde Memorial (SEYM) Fund throughout the years, for my local secondary and undergraduate studies and overseas PhD research. The Fund had not only provided me with substantial financial support so that I could focus on my study without financial worries, it had also given me strong recognition and encouragement to continue to perform. The first SEYM Prizes received in Form 5 came as a total surprise which had boosted my confidence. The SEYM Medals in Form 7 recognised my hard work for the Advanced Level Examination. The SEYM Scholarships helped set my heart on academic pursuit. The SEYM Fellowships for Overseas Studies provided the much-needed support for me to conduct research in Cambridge. Looking back, the Fund had been supporting me through my formative years. I would not have been where I am now in academia without her. I really appreciate the noble aim of the Fund in nurturing local talents.
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the SEYM Fund again. I wish her every success in the years to come!
