I would like to express my gratitude to the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund for selecting me to be one of the recipients of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Prizes and Medals. This can certainly be a recognition of my hard work and motivation in pursuit of future career path.
When we talk about building our career path, learning is of utmost importance. Learning here means life-long learning. In this ever-changing society, there is new knowledge constantly. If we cease learning, we will not be able to catch up with the current trend of this society, leading to lower competitiveness when compared to other competitors in the same field.
Attitude also contributes to a successful career path. Be humble. Learning from others is also regarded as a part of life-long learning. No human is perfect. We should understand our weakness and learn from the strengths of others.
Be a listener. When you receive comments for your work from others, listen carefully and think about why they make such comments. Also, listen to different ideas from different people. They may not be directly related to what you are doing now, however, the thinking or logic behind may be able to help you to accomplish in what you are doing.
