Since 1987 the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund has provided some of Hong Kong's most sought-after awards to our young people in recognition of their academic achievements.  It has, in addition, expanded its scope beyond scholastic excellence by encouraging people from different levels of academic attainment in their quest for continuous self-development, granting awards to the disabled, to working adults, and to apprentices to reward their perseverance, determination and diligence in self-development.

The Fund has disbursed over 266 million dollars to more than 865 000 students who have received our awards or participated in our sponsored activities.  It has been inspiring to see how the Fund has made it possible for young people to take on new challenges and strive to achieve their ambitions.

Our success is entirely due to the unfailing efforts of our many faithful supporters, donors and colleagues, as well as to the award recipients.  They have all played a vital part in making it possible for the Fund to evolve into the prestigious scholarship fund it is today.  I am deeply indebted to them all for their generous and steadfast support.  We have laid a solid foundation and I am confident that with your continued support we will be able to share in the joy of seeing the Fund continue to flourish in the years ahead.
