Entry Requirements / 入學要求:
(a) A recognized Bachelor's degree;
(b) Applicants must meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements if their Bachelor's Degrees did not adopt English as the medium of instruction:
(i) Level 3 from English Language Subject of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (DSE)
(ii) 550 from TOEFL – paper based
(iii) 60 from TOEFL – paper delivered
(iv) 79 from TOEFL – internet based
(v) 6.0 from IELTS
(c) Chinese proficiency (assessable in a written test)

(1) Defining various film and TV industries in Hong Kong, Asia and global environment (6 hours) (2) Political economy and Frankfurt School approach to film and TV industries (3 hours) (3) Neo-liberal theories of film and TV industries (3 hours) (4) Post-Fordism theories of film and TV industries (3 hours) (5) Local and global historical development of film and TV industries (3 hours) (6) Local, global and“glocal”tensions in film and TV industries (6 hours) (7) Contribution of Hong Kong film and TV industries to the formation of the characteristics of Hong Kong popular culture (6 hours) (8) Case studies of Hong Kong film and TV industries in practice (9 hours)

Instructors' Qualifications / 導師資歷:
A recognized higher degree in Film, Creative Media, Creative Industries or a relevant discipline, preferrably with relevant teaching experience at tertiary level and over 5 years of industry experience

Assessment / 課程評核要求:
(A) Assessment Items and Their Weightings:
(1) Class Presentation and Written Report: 30%
(2) Mid Term Assignment: 30%
(3) Term Paper and Oral Presentation: 40%

(B) Completion Requirements:
(1) Overall 40% is the internal passing mark of all HKMU courses

(C) CEF Reimbursement Requirements:
(1) Overall 50% passing mark
(2) Attendance Requirement: 70%
