Entry Requirements / 入學要求:
Applicants shall:
(1) have gained in the HKDSE Examination Level 2 or above in five subjects* including English Language and Chinese Language#;
or
(2) hold a Diploma in Foundation Studies or equivalent qualification;
or
(3) hold a Diploma Yi Jin.

Equivalent qualifications will be considered by the College.

Applicants who do not possess the above academic qualifications but who are aged 21 or above with relevant work experience will be considered on individual merit.

* Applicants are allowed to use not more than two Applied Learning (ApL) subjects in the application. The recognition of the ApL subjects is as follows:
(i) “Attained with Distinction (II)” is deemed equivalent to Level 4 or above in the HKDSE Examination;
(ii) “Attained with Distinction (I)” is deemed equivalent to Level 3 in the HKDSE Examination; and
(iii) “Attained” is deemed equivalent to Level 2 in the HKDSE Examination.

# ApL Chinese (for non-Chinese speaking students) would be accepted as an alternative Chinese Language qualification.

(II) Modern Chinese Language (36 hrs):
(1) 現代漢語的定義與特點 (3 hrs)
(2) 語素定義及分類 (4 hrs)
(3) 詞的定義及分類 (6 hrs)
(4) 實詞與虛詞類別 (6 hrs)
(5) 詞組定義及結構 (4 hrs)
(6) 詞組的層次分析 (3 hrs)
(7) 句子定義及分類(4 hrs)
(8) 句子的層次分析 (6 hrs)

Instructors' Qualifications / 導師資歷:
Holder of an academic qualification at master degree or above, and with at least 2 years of relevant working /teaching experience including Chinese Language and literature.

Assessment / 課程評核要求:
(A) Assessment Items and Their Weightings:
(I) Reading and Writing in Chinese:
(1) Continuous Assessment (100%) [課堂活動(10%), 閱讀成果展示(30%), 微型小說大綱(10%), 課堂表現(5%), 寫作(30%), 閱讀與寫作評估(15%)]

(II) Modern Chinese Language:
(1) Continuous Assessment (65%) [課堂練習(30%), 學期論文(30%), 課堂表現(5%)]
(2) Examination (35%)

(B) Completion Requirement:
(1) achieve at least 50% passing marks in the overall assessments of the captioned CEF course

(C) CEF Reimbursement Requirements:
(1) achieve at least 50% passing marks in the overall assessments of the captioned CEF course
(2) Attendance requirement: at least 70%
